Located in the vibrant Uptown District of Dallas, Church of the Incarnation needed an updated campus plan to address its growing needs. HH Architects provided COTI with additions of a new Gothic style 350 seat chapel, 3 story education, welcome center and connecting corridor. As part of the project, a street was closed allowing for the location of a new Worship Center to become the main hub for the campus providing needed fellowship space as well as centralized entry point from McKinney Avenue and North Central Expressway . The new education space brought all ages together and allows for a more secure environment.
The new Contemporary Worship venue, Ascension Chapel, also features a hammer beam truss ceiling thirty feet above traditional slate floors, but with custom Gothic multi-arm pendant fixtures that house state of the art color changing LED lighting. On a large majority of the walls, Baswaphon, a sound absorbing wall plaster, was used to provide absorption and control sound reflection back to the Chancel Area. Special directional speakers were incorporated to aim the sound towards the worshippers and away from the windows, wall and ceilings.
